Online challenge to estate agents
A new Welsh company that aims to put estate agents out of business is due to be launched on the internet.
Cardiff-based Easier.co.uk plans to spend £11m advertising its homebuyers service over the next year.
Few Wales-based internet firms have as much financial muscle at Easier Plc - it has raised millions to launch an online challenge to Britain's estate agents.
Properties for sale will be featured on the website and buyers introduced to sellers on a strictly no-fee basis.
Estate Agents normally charge a commission of around 2%.
Easier will make its money by passing on clients details - with their permission it says to financial institutions.
"Our aim is to make easier.co.uk the premier market place through which vendors and purchases of domestic property will come together for the purpose of buying and selling homes," a spokesman said.
"The government is pressing to make the domestic property market in England and Wales faster and fairer.
"Easier believes its arrival will positively contribute to this. It is looking at ways of providing sellers packs to further speed the process along."
The company's substantial advertising budget is the result of the City's enthusiasm for all things internet-related.
Easier recently floated itself on AIM -the alternative stock market for fast growing firms - it's only the third Welsh company to do so.
