An elderly man and woman found dead in a house in Powys died from carbon monoxide poisoning, police have said.
The bodies of Margaret Powell, 72, from the Brecon area, and Thomas Morgan, 74, from Port Talbot, were discovered at the Brecon house on Sunday evening.
Police and ambulance crews forced their way in to the property in the Pendre area of the town after being called by concerned neighbours.
Gas appliances in the home will now be investigated, Dyfed-Powys Police said.
A force spokesperson added: "The police will work closely with British Gas, the Health and Safety Executive as well as independent experts in their examination of the address where Thomas and Eileen were found.
"Clearly the focus of that examination will be all gas appliances within the home."
Mrs Powell has three children and grandchildren and neighbours said she was a popular and well-known woman who had lived in the street for some time.
The family and the coroner have been informed.
