Bridgend death - three remanded

Sean Barwick Three teenagers have appeared in court charged with the murder of a 22-year-old man in Bridgend.

Sean Barwick from Bryncethin, died a day after he was found unconscious in the road in the Wildmill area of the town. He died in hospital on Sunday.

Rory McDonald, 19, Gareth Barnard, 18, and a 17-year-old who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Bridgend Magistrates Court on Thursday.

All three were kept in custody before a hearing at crown court on 17 August.

Two other men arrested, aged 33 and 34, have been released on police bail.

A team of more than 50 police officers have been working on the investigation.

Officers said Mr Barwick was believed to have been walking through the Wildmill area on a local route from the town centre to Bryncethin after a night out last Friday.

A motorist later found him lying in St Andrew's Road, Wildmill early on Saturday with serious head injuries.
