Skokholm Island off Pembrokeshire( picture Sid Howells) A fisherman has died after falling overboard from a boat near Skokholm Island off the Pembrokeshire coast on Saturday, say Dyfed-Powys Police.

Milford Haven Coastguard was alerted at 1000 GMT by reports that a man had fallen overboard.

He was rescued from the water and airlifted to Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest where he later died.

The fisherman was later named by Dyfed-Powys Police as 41-year-old Andrew David Jenkins from Tenby.

Another crew member on the boat was airlifted to shore at Milford Haven were he was treated by paramedics.

He was treated for shock and the after effects of being very cold, say police.

Dyfed-Powys Police said the vessel was a fishing boat working out of Tenby.

The St David's lifeboat, a port authority vessel and two other fishing boats also responded to the call, along with an RAF helicopter from Chivenor in Devon.

The incident happened in the stretch of water between Skokholm Island and St Anne's Head.
