Mental health patients go missing

Police searching for two patients who went missing from a mental health hospital in Perth have traced one.

Thomas Walker, 39, escaped from nursing staff while on a supervised outing to Tesco in Perth's South Street on Friday afternoon.

Tayside Police said he was traced on Sunday in the Dundee area.

Bruce Harper, 21, a compulsory patient at Murray Royal Hospital, is still missing after making off from the hospital grounds on Friday.

It is not known if the two incidents are linked.

Mr Harper, who comes from the Hilltown area of Dundee, was described as being about 6ft tall, with a medium build, fair complexion, blue eyes, and short brown hair which is currently dyed black.

He was last seen wearing light blue jeans, a navy t-shirt with light blue stripes on it, and white trainers.

Tayside Police said he requires medication on a daily basis and may become unstable if he fails to take his tablets.

Police later said they were concerned for Laura Soder, 25, a compulsory patient at the Carseview Centre in Dundee, who left the hospital grounds about 1930 BST on Saturday.

Laura, who is originally from Finland and speaks in poor English, is described as being about 5ft 6in, of medium build, with a fair complexion and brown eyes.

Laura has long dark hair and when she was last seen was wearing black trousers, a black jumper, white trainers and a white scarf.
