Woman injured in crash with horse

A woman is being treated in hospital for serious head injuries after her pick-up truck struck and killed a horse on a main road.

Tayside Police said the accident happened after two horses strayed onto the A977, near Crook of Devon in Kinross-shire, on Tuesday evening.

The woman's truck then collided with another vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.

She was taken to Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline.

Officers appealed for information about the crash, which happened at about 1900 GMT.
