Family of seaman travel to city

The family of a Norwegian seaman who has gone missing from Dundee have travelled to the city.

Bard Folland, 27, disappeared from his vessel, which was berthed at the harbour, at about 2300 BST on Friday after returning from a night out.

Police and detectives are examining CCTV footage and have questioned fellow crewmen as they try to find him.

They are also appealing for the taxi driver who dropped Mr Folland off at his ship to come forward.

The crane operator was driven back to the vessel - the Falcon - at about 2200 BST.

Star tattoo

Officers hope that the driver of the red wheelchair accessible-style cab will be able to help piece together the movements of Mr Folland before he went missing.

Mr Folland is 5ft 7in tall, of medium build, and was wearing a white T-shirt, grey hat, jeans and light trainers.

He has a star tattoo on his left elbow with the word Ibiza written inside.

His name - possibly in Arabic - is tattooed inside his left bicep. There is an L on his right bicep, and a boxing kangaroo on his right shoulder.

Mr Folland had been in the Ship Inn bar and Bombay Joe's restaurant in Broughty Ferry before returning to his ship and then going missing.

He was also known to visit the All Stars Sports Bar and Ticketty Boo's in Dundee.
