Boy, 11, charged over pellet gun

An 11-year-old boy has been charged following an incident involving a pellet gun at his school, it has emerged.

The pupil at Barnhill Primary School in Dundee was sent home on Wednesday after it was claimed the toy had been fired.

It is not known if any pupils were struck in the incident.

A police spokesman confirmed that the boy had been reported to the Children's Panel. The owner of a local newsagent has already stopped selling the toys.
