Polish man dies after head injury

A Polish man has died the day after being found in the street in Dundee with a head injury.

A taxi driver saw the 40-year-old lying in Sandeman Street and bleeding heavily at about 0845 BST on Sunday.

He was taken Ninewells Hospital but later discharged himself. At about 0950 BST on Monday he fell ill at home and an ambulance crew could not save him.

Detectives are appealing for information to help uncover how the man received his injury.

He was about 6ft tall, with short dark hair and a moustache.

At the time he was wearing blue workman-type trousers, a black shirt with silver design and black work boots.
