Dentists hit by equipment fault

Dental Exam

All of Friday's routine appointments had to be cancelled at the Dundee Dental Hospital after sterilising equipment broke down.

The malfunction meant there were not enough clean instruments for the dentists to use.

In total, 276 patients had their check-ups and treatment called off.

The problem has since been resolved and normal services will resume on Monday. NHS Tayside has apologised for any inconvenience.
