A visitor book containing an original sketch of Oor Wullie has been sold for £1,900 at auction.
The comic character was drawn by Dudley D Watkins after a family holiday in Perthshire.
It features Wullie on an upturned pail with a speech bubble saying: "It wis a rare holiday! Wait till I tell Fat Bob an' Soapy Soutar a' aboot it!"
The ink drawing, which dates back to 1959, was expected to fetch between £700 and £1,000.
Also up for auction was a profile of Oor Wullie scribbled in a fan's autograph book in 1953, which went for £700.
It was expected to bring in £400 at most.
The names of the buyers are not being released but it is thought the sketches may be staying in Scotland.
Nick Burns, from auctioneers Lindsay Burns and Company, said: "I think both lots provided a insight into the creator Dudley D Watkins and the type of person he was.
"We had interest in the room, on the telephone and on the internet.
"He [Oor Wullie] is a very sought after, iconic Scottish character and those who read the comics as a child are perhaps now in a position to purchase original artworks of what was their childhood icon."
