Former Lord Advocate Lord Fraser of Carmyllie has said he is "hugely relieved" that air rage charges have been dropped by prosecutors.
The Crown Office said there was "insufficient evidence" of an offence having been committed.
Lord Fraser, 61, had been charged with a breach of the Air Navigation Order 2005 on board a ScotAirways flight from London to Dundee on 19 December.
Tayside Police had arrested former Tory MP Peter Fraser at Dundee airport.

Lord Fraser became lord advocate - Scotland's top law officer - in 1989.
During his time as lord advocate, he had ultimate responsibility for the Pan Am 103 Lockerbie investigation.
More recently he led the inquiry into the spiralling costs of the Scottish Parliament building project.
He was informed by BBC Scotland that the charges had been dropped.
He said the experience had been "shocking" and he had never thought he had done anything wrong.
Lord Fraser said: "Thank god for honourable political opponents because there was a former Labour MP, a present MP and shop steward who all said I did nothing wrong."
He said that he had been "bumped down" on the flight, meaning that he not been given the class of seat he expected.
The peer said that he had complained to air crew about his seat on the flight but that he had been "perfectly polite".
"To this evening I do not know what I am alleged to have done which caused upset," Lord Fraser said.
"It is not good for my reputation. I have been shocked. I can't sleep.
"All my life I have had only one objective, to pursue the law and then all that happens to me. I was so upset I just could not sleep".
