Appeal after assault on teenager

Police are hunting a woman who assaulted a teenage girl in Dundee.

The 17-year-old victim suffered cuts on her face and arms when she was attacked with a sharp object in the city's Gotterstone area.

The woman who attacked her approached the girl as she was running by the former Powrie Primary School playing fields near Baluniefield Road.

Tayside Police have appealed for information on the incident, which happened at about 1810 on Wednesday.

The girl, who was treated at Dundee's Ninewells Hospital, described her attacker as about 5ft 4in with a thin face, long, fair hair and a strong local accent.
