The switchover to digital television will be completed in Scotland by the middle of 2011, it has been announced.
The Scottish Borders became the first region to complete the change last month, when more than 50,000 households became digital only.
The south west will follow next year, with the north converting through 2010. Lothian and parts of Edinburgh and Fife will complete the change by June 2011.
Digital UK said virtually every home in Scotland would benefit from the change.
DIGITAL SWITCHOVER TIMETABLE
"By the time the whole process is complete in June 2011, almost every Scottish household will have a choice of ways to receive digital TV.
"As part of our information campaign we'll be writing to every household and sending our switchover roadshow to over 60 towns and cities across Scotland."
Switchover takes place in two stages at each TV transmitter group, with the exact switchover dates for each group being announced nearer the time.
Digital UK said leaflets, advertising and on screen captions for viewers still using analogue would be used to remind people about the approaching switchover.
A switchover help scheme has been set up to help those aged over 75, people with a a significant disability and those who are registered blind or partially sighted.
Digital UK also provides advice through its Scotland-based helpline - 08456 50 50 50 - and its website.
