Man charged after fire at hotel

A man has been charged with wilful fire-raising after a serious blaze at a hotel in Dumfries and Galloway.

Police discovered the fire at The Cree Bridge Hotel, Minnigaff, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

officers alerted the staff and residents of the hotel and the building was evacuated safely.

Police said the man was arrested on Saturday night in connection with the fire and is expected to appear in court in Stranraer.
