An investigation has begun into the death of a man who was crushed by a tractor at a vintage machinery show.
David Jackson, 57, from Ruthwell near Annan, died in hospital, hours after the incident at the show at Park Farm in Dumfries on Sunday afternoon.
Mr Jackson had taken part in the grand parade on his restored 1948 "Field Marshall" tractor.
He had been loading the vehicle onto a lorry when it overturned and he was trapped underneath.
'Tragic end'
Eyewitnesses said the tractor skidded as it was being driven up the ramp and flipped over.
Spectators and exhibitors rushed to the scene and managed to lift the vehicle clear.
Mr Jackson was treated by paramedics before being transferred to Dumfries Infirmary where he died from his injuries six hours later.
The incident happened at the 30th annual Dumfries and Galloway Vintage Machinery Club event.
Spokesman for the event, Billy Gordon, said it was a "tragic" end to the day.
He said: "We are absolutely gutted and the more people that hear about it today, everybody is saddened that such an event should take place."
