Floods hangover hits roads again

Flooding [Pic: Dawn Smith]

The recent flooding in north east Scotland has caused more problems for motorists after engineers were forced to close two more routes.

Damage to a bridge in Cullen has closed the main A98 Fochabers to Banff road, with diversions in place.

And a bridge on the B9022 near Rothiemay has also been closed because of flood damage.

Meanwhile, ScotRail said both of the train lines which were closed, were to reopen this weekend.

The Aberdeen to Inverness service will resume on Saturday, with trains between Aberdeen and Dundee running again on Sunday.

ScotRail thanked staff for their efforts, and passengers for their "understanding".

The heavy rain, which caused the floods, especially in towns such as Stonehaven and Huntly, struck on Sunday.
