Man in court over severe assault

A 21-year-old man has appeared in court charged with assaulting a Polish man in Aberdeen.

Jaroslaw Janeczek, 39, was badly injured in the Tillydrone area in the early hours of Saturday.

Keith Porter, of Aberdeen, appeared at the city's sheriff court charged with assault to severe injury, permanent impairment and danger to life.

He made no plea or declaration, was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
