School week plan 'to be scrapped'

Hands up in class

Council plans to shorten the school week in Aberdeen could be scrapped after a consultation.

The consultation was carried out on proposals to change from a five-day week to four-and-a-half days.

The majority of those who responded - 80% - including parents, teachers and pupils, have disagreed or strongly disagreed with the plans.

The council said about £440,000 could be saved but a report for councillors says that would not be achieved.

It is being recommended the plans are not progressed any further.
