Pet cat's airgun leg loss 'agony'

A pet cat has had to have a leg amputated after it was shot with an air rifle in Aberdeenshire.

The family cat - who is called Willow - was attacked with the weapon in the Crook O'Ness area of Macduff early on Saturday afternoon.

Willow had to have surgery and lost one of her front legs.

Owner Alistair Minty told BBC Scotland that Willow was left in agony and was screaming in pain after the attack on a "beautiful little cat".

A Grampian Police spokesperson appealed for anyone who was in the area at the time of incident and may have information to contact them.
