Bus strike on after deal rejected

First bus - generic

A strike by bus drivers in Aberdeen looks set to go ahead this weekend after a revised pay offer was rejected by union members.

Members of the Unite T&G union are holding out for a 5% pay rise from First Bus, after talks at conciliation service Acas failed to reach agreement.

Drivers are now set to stage a walkout on Saturday, one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year.

Further two-day strikes are planned for later in the month.
