Aberdeen set for new Tesco store
Aberdeen is to get a new Tesco superstore, it has been decided.
Permission on the site of the former Woodend Hospital annex, at Rousay Drive off the city's Lang Stracht, has been granted by councillors.
There had been objections from local shops, and concern about increased traffic problems.
The site has lain empty for 20 years and is described as a "dumping ground". Councillors were told measures are planned to minimise traffic disruption.
The plan is for a store with more than 400 car parking spaces.
