City libraries closed over staff

Three Aberdeen libraries are to close temporarily because of staff shortages, it has been announced.

Dyce library will close between 1600 BST and 1900 BST on Monday night, and the Bucksburn and Northfield branches will be closed on Tuesday morning.

There are 19 vacancies for library assistants across the city.

The council said casual workers were being employed and full-time staff asked to change hours, adding the closure decision was not taken lightly.
