Four rescued as boat runs aground

Four people were rescued in the early hours of the morning after their speedboat ran aground and began taking in water off the Moray coast.

The incident happened at Whitehills at about 0030 BST.

A coastguard spokesman said Banff coastguard team and Macduff lifeboat came to their aid.

The two men and two women were walked to safety over rocks using a rope and harness. They were cold and wet but were not injured.
