Teenager held after Elgin attack

Police have appealed for witnesses following what was described as a "serious assault" in Elgin.

A 54-year-old man was taken to the Moray town's Dr Gray's Hospital after the attack in the Moycroft area on Monday night.

He had suffered upper body and head injuries.

Grampian Police said a 19-year-old man had been taken into custody and that a report would be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
