The Foreign Office has still not received official confirmation an Aberdeen oil worker was among the victims of a helicopter crash in Dubai.
Adam Duff, 62, was thought to have been a passenger on the helicopter when it crashed into an offshore platform on Wednesday, killing seven people.
The victims were a Briton, an American, a Filipino, a Venezuelan, a Pakistani and two Indian nationals.
A relative said Mr Duff was missing presumed dead.
Other family members were understood to be in Dubai carrying out an official identification.
The helicopter crashed into the deck of the rig during take-off.
Aberdeen-based Petrofac, the operator of Dubai government's offshore oilfields, said the Aerogulf Bell 212 helicopter was carrying two crew members and five passengers.
It crashed on to the deck of the Resilient, the Maersk jack-up drilling rig, on a routine flight from the Rashid oil field, 70 kilometres (43.5 miles) from Dubai.
The company said there were no survivors on board.
Mr Duff, who lives at St Machar Court in the Tillydrone area of Aberdeen, is known to work in the oil industry in Dubai.
He is employed by Texas-based Noble Drilling, which also has an office in Aberdeen.
Neither arm of the company would confirm the identities of the seven who died.
