Motorbike officers hurt in crash

Two police motorcyclists were taken to hospital - one of them with serious injuries - after they were involved in a crash with a car in Aberdeenshire.

The instructor and student from the Scottish Police College were taking part in an advanced course when the crash happened on Thursday afternoon.

The officers were taken to hospital in Aberdeen after the collision on the A93 between Aboyne and Ballater.

The student's injuries were described as "serious".

Both officers are from outwith the Grampian force. The female driver of the green Skoda Octavia involved in the crash was not hurt.
