Trapped man airlifted to hospital

Aberdeen Royal Infirmary

A man has been airlifted to hospital after a serious industrial accident at an Aberdeenshire scrap yard.

It is thought the "elderly" man became trapped under a trailer near Auchnagatt, close to the A948, shortly after 1100 BST.

He suffered what are believed to be chest crush injuries, and was flown by air ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment at 1215 BST.

Grampian Police said the Health and Safety Executive had been informed.
