Driver dies in crash with tractor

A man aged 36 has been killed after his car was involved in a collision with a tractor in Banffshire.

The accident happened on the B9031 near Gamrie shortly before 1500 BST on Monday.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were all called to the scene of the accident. The Ford Fiesta driver who died was from the Banff area.

The driver of the tractor, a 69-year-old man, also from the local area, was shocked but otherwise uninjured.

The road was closed for six hours to allow a collision investigation to take place.
