Remains found on beach in Orkney

Efforts are under way to identify human remains which have been recovered from a beach at Yesnaby in Orkney.

It follows shore searches last month for the driver of a car which plunged over 100ft cliffs.

Local man, Darren Kirkness, 20, is missing and was believed to have been the driver.

A Northern Constabulary spokesman said the remains were recovered from the beach earlier on Saturday and efforts were ongoing to establish an identity.
