Mail scam concerns to be raised
An Aberdeen family's ordeal at the hands of mail scammers is to be raised at Westminster.
Relatives of 87-year-old Robert Somerville believe he was tricked out of £7,000 in the last year of his life.
They say the pensioner was tricked into sending money to companies who wrote saying he had won a cash prize and they required an administration fee.
Aberdeen South MP Anne Begg is highlighting his case as part of an adjournment debate on mail scams.
Ms Begg is calling on the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) to take a tougher stance on those carrying out mail scams as she said it is often the vulnerable that are targeted.
