A woman who launched an £800,000 damages action over the death of her partner on a North Sea oil platform has settled out of court.
Jacqueline Ogilvie took out the civil case against oil giant Shell and services firm Wood Group following the death of technician Keith Moncrieff.
Mr Moncrieff, 45, and co-worker Sean McCue, 22, died after a gas release on Brent Bravo in September 2003.
Mrs Ogilvie, from Dundee, has agreed a "substantial" settlement.
Shell has already been fined £900,000 in court for health and safety breaches.
'Negligent actings'
Mr Moncrieff, from Invergowrie, Dundee, and Mr McCue, from Kennoway, Fife, were inspecting a pipe on Brent Bravo, which lies 116 miles north-east of Shetland, when they died.
Shell was criticised at a fatal accident inquiry for defects and failings.
A sheriff said the deaths may have been prevented if a temporary repair had been managed and the risk of working in the utility leg had been properly assessed.
Shell accepted the findings and said it had improved safety procedures.
Mrs Ogilvie had alleged "negligent actings" in her action at the Court of Session in Edinburgh and the case was due this week.
Her legal representative, George Clark, of Aberdeen-based Quantum Claims, said a substantial and undisclosed settlement had been reached.
