Five ducks have been beheaded in Elgin in what has been described by an animal welfare group as an "outrage".
The heads of the five birds were found at Cooper Park in the Moray town, where ducks are popular pond attractions.
The Scottish SPCA is investigating the attacks and has appealed for the public to come forward with information.
Scottish SPCA spokeswoman Doreen Graham told BBC Scotland: "They may have been enticed from the pond. It's very concerning."
She added: "There's great outrage. People would have been feeding these ducks and now they have been decapitated.
"There is no sign of the bodies.
"Somebody is maybe offering duck meat for sale.
"Somebody must have seen something and we would like a phone call."
