Train hits man at level crossing

A man was taken to hospital after being hit by a train at a level crossing.

Northern Constabulary said the man was struck by the Kyle to Inverness train in Dingwall, Ross-shire, at about 1405 BST.

The man, who has not been named, was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.

His injuries were not life-threatening. The incident happened at the Dingwall Canal North Level Crossing, close to a caravan site in Jubilee Park Road.
