Golfers launch longest day drive

An event dubbed the Western Isles longest day of golf challenge has teed off on courses in the Hebrides in aid of charity.

Teams of four are trying to play 72 holes in a single day, with the groups expected to finish at about 2300 BST.

Money is being raised for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Most teams are playing on their home course, but a group of police officers are aiming to play courses on Barra, South Uist, Harris and Lewis.
