A Scottish airline has secured a contract to run daily flights between two cities in Finland.
Highland Airways will operate the aircraft between Helsinki and Lappeenranta on a public obligation-type service from 12 January.
There is not a UK connection to the service, which will fly three times each week day.
Highland Airways already flies to destinations throughout Scotland and also between Anglesey and Cardiff.
A Jetstream 31 aircraft, which can seat 19 passengers and branded with Fly Lappeenranta livery, to fly from Inverness for Finland.
Colin Munro, of Highland Airways, said it was the first time the company had secured such a contract outside of the UK.
The Inverness-based airline does provide chartered flights to Europe as well as regular services to the Outer and Inner Hebrides.
Helsinki is the capital of Finland, while Lappeenranta is the country's 13th largest city and centre of the South Karelia region.
