Teenager killed in road accident

A teenager has died following a road accident on the A882.

Scott Mackenzie, 17, was a passenger in the BMW which crashed at Whitefield near Bilbster in Caithness at about 2200 GMT on Saturday.

Mr MacKenzie, from Wick, died in hospital. Four other men were taken to Caithness General Hospital following the single-vehicle collision.

One was suffering from spinal injuries, while the others were described as "walking wounded".

Northern Constabulary said a report would be sent to the procurator fiscal.
