Road crash leaves one person dead

One person has been killed after a road accident on the A96 near Dalcross in the Highlands.

Northern Constabulary said emergency services were called to the scene of the accident just before 2030 GMT.

Investigations were under way at the scene and diversions were in place via Croy and Ardersier.

A police spokesman appealed for anyone with information to contact them. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
