Men accused of restaurant attack

Two men have appeared in court accused of sexually assaulting a woman in an Inverness restaurant.

David Notman, 21, of Inverness, is charged with rape after locking the woman in a toilet cubicle at Iguana Wana on 3 September last year.

His co-accused Michael Dryglak, 23, of Morden, London, allegedly indecently assaulted the woman at the restaurant and threatened to kill her.

The men denied the charges and are expected to face trial on 6 January.

Continued bail

Mr Notman's lawyer lodged a special defence of consent in connection with the rape allegation.

Mr Dryglak also faces a third charge of failing to turn up for a previous court date in July.

The men denied all charges when they appeared for a short hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.

Judge Lady Dorrian continued bail and adjourned the case until January at the High Court in Edinburgh when a four-day trial is expected to begin.
