Heroin warning after two deaths

Heroin and needle

Drug users in the Inverness area have been warned a contaminated batch of heroin may be in circulation, after two sudden deaths over the weekend.

On Friday morning, a 28-year-old woman died in the Hilton area of Inverness and a 30-year-old man died in the Crown area of the city on Saturday night.

Northern Constabulary said investigations were continuing into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Post-mortem examinations were due to be carried out.

Anyone with any information which could help the investigation was asked to contact police.
