Police have launched an investigation into an attempted murder in Inverness.

A 27-year-old man was injured in the city's Upper Kessock Street during an early hours incident.

He was taken to Raigmore Hospital for treatment. Northern Constabulary said his injuries were not described as life threatening.

Two men aged 21 and 27 are expected to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on Monday in connection with the incident, police said.
