The Army in Scotland's Pipers' Trail endeavour has reached Inverness.
Taking six weeks and covering 470 miles around Scotland, the event is celebrating the military's connections with the country.
The Army is planning a musical and theatrical event in the city's Northern Meeting Park on Saturday.
Among the musicians taking part along the route of the trail is drummer Eva Forbes, 21, of Inverarnie, Inverness-shire.
The journey started in Shetland on 17 June.
The Army said the programme of events in Scottish towns and cities were "designed to re-invigorate" its links with communities.
