Moorland fires caught on camera

Firefighters have been dealing with the second fire in the space of a few hours on moorland near Garve in Wester Ross.

As in the previous incident, a helicopter was brought in to water bomb the blaze.

Highlands and Islands Fire and Rescue Service said the second fire had come close to woodland.

Last month, fire crews tackled a moor fire which damaged Laide community wood in Wester Ross and at one stage posed a threat to nearby homes.

Wester Ross resident Jim Henderson and Steve Roberston, of the North Highland Forest Trust took captured the incidents on camera.

Damage caused to the community woodland at Laide is still being assessed.
