The Gaelic feature film Seachd: The Inaccessible Pinnacle has been nominated for a Scottish Bafta.
The move comes weeks after a separate UK Bafta committee decided it was not worthy of submission for the Oscar nominations for foreign language films.
The film faces competition from Hallam Foe and The Last King of Scotland in the Scottish Bafta best film category.
Other nominees for awards include the TV comedy Wedding Belles and the detective series Rebus.
'Fearful stories'
The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Glasgow on 18 November, which for the first time will be streamed live on the internet.
Seachd: The Inaccessible Pinnacle tells the story of a boy's quest for the truth behind his dying grandfather's "fearful stories".
Scenes were shot on the Cuillin ridge on Skye.
The film is also nominated in the best screenplay category.
Actor Aonghas Padraig Caimbeul is up for best actor along with Jamie Bell for Hallam Foe and James McAvoy for The Last King of Scotland.
'Terrific list'
Television nominations include the BBC's Newsnight Scotland for its election fiasco investigation and Frontline Scotland for the Kriss Donald murder, which are in the running for the best news and current affairs category against STV's election special.
BBC programmes are also nominated in the best documentary and best drama categories, where BBC4's Consenting Adults goes up gainst Rebus from ITV and Wedding Belles from Channel 4.
