Surveyors will use satellite technology to check if a summit qualifies for entry in an exclusive list of peaks more than 3,000ft (914.4m) high.
Beinn Dearg in Torridon is currently said to be 12ft short of being a Munro, the name given to Scotland's highest 284 mountains.
In June, Larbert-based surveyors CMCR Ltd carried out a similar exercise on Foinaven in Sutherland.
They found that it fell short of being a Munro by 12ft, and remains a Corbett.
A Corbett is the name for peaks in Scotland between 2,500ft and 3,000ft.
Munros are the highest of Scotland's mountains and many hill walkers and mountaineers pursue the goal of "bagging" all of them.
Two surveyors from CMCR, along with members of the Munro Society and various mountaineering clubs, will take the measurements on Saturday.
The result will be announced later.
