Man electrocuted by power lines

A man has been electrocuted by overhead power lines as he was making a delivery at a farm near East Kilbride.

Darren Taylor, 23, from Baillieston in Glasgow, was delivering a metal storage container to the North Kirktonmoor Farm in Eaglesham on Thursday evening.

It is understood machinery being used to hoist the container from a lorry came into contact with power lines.

Mr Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene. The Health and Safety Executive is investigating.
