Boxing boss on murder bid charge

Boxing promoter Barry Hughes has appeared in court charged with attempted murder.

Mr Hughes, 30, of Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire, is alleged to have stabbed 22-year-old Christopher Boyle at Glasgow nightlcub Byblos last month.

Paul Fitzpatrick, 30, and Jamie Bryce, 26, also appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court in connection with the incident.

The three men made no plea or declaration and were remanded in custody.
