Stabbings leave three in hospital

Bus stop

Police are treating the stabbings of three men in the west of Scotland as attempted murder.

In the first attack, two 19-year-old men were found injured outside the Megabar pub in Motherwell in the early hours of Friday morning.

An unrelated incident saw a 16-year-old youth being stabbed in an attack at a bus stop in the east end of Glasgow at 1800 BST on Friday.

All three injured males were said to be in a serious condition in hospital.

Police have appealed for witnesses to both attacks.

Two 27-year-olds were also injured in the Motherwell incident. One is in a stable condition in hospital while the other was released after treatment.

The 16-year-old was attacked in broad daylight by three men in their late teens at a bus stop in Glasgow's London Road.

He suffered stab wounds to his head and leg and was being treated in Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
