Man charged with Moira's murder

Moira Jones

A 32-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of Moira Jones.

Marek Harcar was also charged with attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

He made no plea, declaration or bail application during the appearance at Glasgow Sheriff Court and was committed for further examination.

The body of Ms Jones, 40, a sales consultant, originally from Staffordshire, was found in Queen's Park, Glasgow, on 29 May.

Mr Harcar was detained in Slovakia on 18 June under a European Arrest Warrant and was returned to Scotland on Wednesday.
