OAP dies after being hit by car

A 70-year-old man has died after he was hit by a car in Paisley, Renfrewshire.

The pensioner was hit by a Vauxhall Corsa in Dykebar Crescent at about 0105 BST on Tuesday.

He was taken to the town's Royal Alexandra Hospital where he was treated for serious injuries, but died a short time later.

Strathclyde police are investigating the crash and appealed for witnesses to come forward. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
